Sauti Yetu
Increasing civic engagement in political and policy decision making processes at the local level
Sauti Yetu is a civic engagement initiative that encourages communities to exercise their democratic rights and engage the community and elected and appointed leaders by creating non-partisan spaces to discuss local issues and create healthy relationships between citizens and government. Sauti Yetu promotes citizen participation in democratic processes, enables citizens to exercise oversight over government action(s) and strengthens democratic reforms.
Sauti Yetu exists to strengthen and increase citizen engagement in political and decision-making processes, especially at the county level. Using community organising, Sauti Yetu works with community groups and individuals, both offline and online, at the county level with specific emphasis on bringing on board marginalised and minority groups. This work is done through Joint Community Forums, Mentorship programmes, Capacity Enhancement, Political Debates and Thematic Meetings.
