Enterprise Development

Equipping communities with the skills and opportunities to achieve economic self-reliance while championing their rights

Inuka Kenya’s Enterprise Development program supports individuals and communities to strengthen their economic resilience while growing their civic voice. Most activists, marginalized communities, and economically disempowered groups find it difficult to sustain their advocacy in the face of intimidation, economic hardship, and abuse of power by impunious authorities.

This program proposes an enterprise development model that leverages sustainable livelihoods and social interventions as entry points for civic engagement and governance participation. By focusing on scaling up income-generating initiatives and mentoring disadvantaged youth through partnerships with business leaders, the program aims to foster hope, build self-confidence, and strengthen community-led change.

Central to this initiative is the creation of community-driven hubs, spaces that will support civic education, economic empowerment, and collective advocacy for social and livelihood rights. The program leverages technology to amplify community voices, showcase stories of change, and track the evolution of civic narratives. With targeted interventions in education, food security, and health, the hubs will serve as living platforms for democratic participation and narrative transformation.
