Enterprise Development
Developing enterprises that enable activists to be economically self-reliant.
Economic vulnerability often weakens the ability of citizens and activists to sustain advocacy in the face of intimidation and abuse of power. The Enterprise Development Programme bridges this gap by using sustainable livelihoods as a pathway to civic engagement. It strengthens income-generating ventures, nurtures local entrepreneurship, and empowers communities, especially women, youth, and persons with disabilities, to become self-reliant and active participants in governance.
Establishing Income-Generating Ventures
Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi! supports civic actors to start and scale income-generating ventures through mentorship, training, and market linkages. By identifying viable local opportunities, such as agriculture, crafts, renewable energy, and digital services, the programme provides the tools and resources needed for growth.
Mentorship
The programme’s mentorship component fosters self-belief, agency, and entrepreneurship among youth, women, and marginalised communities. It connects aspiring entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders and professionals who provide guidance, motivation, and practical skills for success. Through workshops, exposure visits, and storytelling, participants gain confidence, learn to navigate challenges, and develop leadership capacity.
